 About
Sherry Brourman authored her book, Walk Yourself Well in 1998 as the culmination of her then, twenty five years of experience as a practicing Physical Therapist, the process of healing a severe low back condition, and a lifetime of athletics, mostly figure skating. Her book teaches a system of self study, movement and healing that applies to walking and equally, to yoga asana. This system coalesces balancing, strengthening, lengthening and softening the body in movement with specific structural breathing components that make it all more accessible.
Sherry continues to practice Physical Therapy, and teach Yoga classes. She also teaches Functional Anatomy for Yoga Teacher Trainings with Max Strom, and at Exhale, Venice and at YogaWorks. In addition, Sherry teaches Functional Yoga Anatomy Analysis for The Yoga Therapy Certification Program at Loyola Marymount University, and travels extensively, teaching Physical Therapy and Yoga workshops and seminars locally and nationally.
In her Yoga world, Sherry would like to thank Max Strom, her formost Yoga teacher, and Sarah Powers. In her Physical Therapy world, Sherry would like to thank Rene Cailliet MD, Moshe Feldenkrais, Robin McKenzie, John Mennel MD and Dianne Lee PT, PHD.
